Completed Sabot #13 and still going

It has now been over three years since the startup of Bedford Boats. It has certainly been a big change from being a systems engineer at a Fortune 500 company but It has been great.

I’ve now completed boat 13 plus a few repairs here-and-there. The boats have certainly improved over the years, that is, the workmanship is much better as my fiberglassing techniques have improved. The basic hull build has not changed much at all. I have improved the templates to cut foam and glass, the foam I’m using runs from the bow-to-stern along the floor so there are no joints to absorb resin, and I now hand layup 4oz cloth along the rails where I see a tendency for bubbles to appear in the infusion process (see boat 13 below)

I’m also working to be the USA dealer for DB Marine Snipes. Yes, another hard chine boat from Bedford Boats. DB Marine, located in Trieste Italy, purchased the molds from Persson Marine (Jan Persson of Denmark) and have continued to make improvements to the cockpit and hull shape. Their latest model, the DB-R1, won the 2015 Snipe Worlds in Talamone Italy. More information of Snipe purchases coming soon!
